Meet Our Board Members

Our board members bring a wealth of experience and expertise, united by a commitment to building a more inclusive and affirming beauty industry.

Jamie DiGrazia [She/They]

Founder Jamie DiGrazia (she/they) is a leader in LGBTQIA2S+ advocacy and the visionary behind HAIR HAS NO GENDER.

Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, DiGrazia is an award-winning business owner, stylist, educator, and platform artist. Her 20-year journey has been inspired by her dedication to bringing safety, validation, and self assurance to every person touched by the hair world. Jamie specializes in curly/textured hair shaping and styling; her edgy looks often showcase the inherent fluidity of hair, and by extension, diversity and respect for gender expressions.

DiGrazia has set the precedent for inclusive practices in both business and craft, inspiring the transformative era in hairdressing the industry has been waiting for.

Vice Chair

Ashley Lemaster [She/Her]

Vice Chair Ashley Lemaster (she/her), a licensed cosmetologist since 2009, has dedicated her career to fostering growth and talent within the professional beauty community. Originally from San Diego, CA, she made the leap to NYC in 2017 to further her career as a full-time Redken Regional Educator. In 2022, Ashley relocated to Los Angeles to take on the exciting role of ProLAB Manager at L’Oréal, launching the very first PPD Academy. She brings over 15 years of experience to the position, leveraging her expertise to drive innovation. A true champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), Ashley is a passionate advocate for changing the face of the beauty industry, and is deeply committed to creating a more equitable and welcoming space for all.

Treasurer

Tim Fisk [He/Him]

Treasurer Tim Fisk (he/him) is proud to serve Hair Has No Gender as a founding board member. He also the Director of Brand Development for Summit Salon Business Center. Where he has the opportunity to pass on the knowledge that someone from Summit once gave to him—knowledge that helped him and his company grow faster, better and stronger. In addition to his work with Summit, Tim owns three brands in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts: two hair salons—Herdis the Salon and Parker on Main—and Plum, a fashion and lifestyle boutique.

Secretary

Kathy Horton [She/Her]

Secretary Kathy Horton (she/her) is thrilled to join the Hair Has No Gender board. She has a long history of working with nonprofits, and has served as the board president of a theater company and a spiritual organization. Kathy also works in Customer Success at OneStream Software, where she demonstrates her commitment to providing excellent customer service by helping customers succeed with their software investment. She has served the world of business for over 20 years. Her expertise ranges from corporate performance management software to business consulting to team building. She brings national and international management experience to this position as an entrepreneur and developer of an 11-room boutique hotel, Pangea Lodge, in Costa Rica.

Their insights help us stay at the forefront of inclusive beauty practices and ensure that our mission resonates with a wide range of individuals.

Advisor

Claudia Halina [They/Them]

As a passionate advocate for inclusivity and self-expression, Claudia Halina brings a unique perspective to the “Hair Has No Gender” advisory board. With 3 years of experience in the beauty industry, specializing in hair and makeup, Claudia has worked on set for both video and photo shoots, helping to craft and capture diverse representations of beauty. Claudia brings this same energy to each client that sits in their chair. Their hands-on experience in the industry gives them a deep understanding of the power of personal expression through style.

In addition to their professional background, Claudia has been actively involved in volunteer work with HHNG as well as Don’t Forget About Me (DFAM), further demonstrating their commitment to advocacy and community support. They are constantly looking to improve their facilitation skills so they can better teach and advocate for others. Their dedication to breaking down traditional gender norms and creating an inclusive environment is at the core of their work with “Hair Has No Gender.”

Claudia is driven by the belief that hair is a powerful form of self-expression, free from societal constraints, and is proud to be part of a movement that empowers individuals to embrace their true selves.

Advisor

Manda Ziegelman [They/Them]

What do you want to discover, explore, & cultivate? Manda is an artist that encourages folks to expand & see things differently. They love to learn, share, express, & grow with other hairdressers open to evolving through the creative process.

With 17 years of diverse industry experience, Manda can create it all! Their outlet beyond hair reveals them as a vegan world traveler + activist existing in queer & alternative communities; expressing through sculpture, printmaking, collaging, playing in punk rock bands, & writing poetry. They are an artist through & through. Manda is an influencer for trending looks, and fearless in their approach with destination clients in Seattle & Portland. They frequent trade shows with industry icons, color hair for global campaign photoshoots, & have created looks for top designers at LA Fashion Week & beyond. Manda is a Sam Villa Ambassador teaching digitally, & a requested artist customizing hands on workshops to salons across the country.

Recent nominations include NAHA & BTC. Manda helped develop & facilitate Redken’s Safe Space course in partnership with the It Gets Better Project, a global training designed to empower & uplift the LGBTQIA+ community around the globe.

Manda’s open minded, compassionate, and all-inclusive approach will motivate you to discover + nourish what sets your heart on fire.

Advisor

David Drachman [He/Him]

David Drachman (he/him), has been working in the beauty industry for over fifteen years. Originally from Philadelphia, he now lives in New York with his husband Carlos. David started his beauty career at Rudy’s Barbershop, which has been practicing gender-free pricing since its inception in 1993. As President and CEO of Rudy’s, David established their first DEI Task Force to help initiate much-needed change to the company and the industry in general.

Since 2021, David has run ACCESS,  L’Oreal USA’s online Learning Management System for Professionals, where he also creates original DEI and business content for its 70,000 strong subscriber base. David has been active in LGBTQIA2S+ causes for over two decades, and is proud to help advocate for the normalization of true inclusivity through Hair Has No Gender.
